What is Rubella Ayurvedic treatment

RUBELLA Meaning

Rubella is a highly contagious viral infection best known by its distinctive red rash. It is also called German measles or three-day measles.  Yet, Rubella is not the same as measles, even though the two diseases share some similarity such as the red rash. However, rubella is caused by a virus that is very different than one that causes measles, and is neither as infectious nor usually as severe as measles. 1

The widely available measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, usually given to children before they reach school age, is highly effective in preventing rubella.1

Ayurveda does not recognize Rubella as a separate entity. It probably did not exist as an infection during those times, yet the symptoms can be co-related to masurika (skin eruptions) and sannipataja jwara (Complicated fever). Sannipataja (complication of all 3 doshas) occurs due to tridosha vriddhi & prakopa (vitiation and overflow) respectively. These lead to the classical infection and tissue invasion for which cell injury takes pace and causes dhatu avarana and dhatu kshaya (loss of tissue), with the initiation of the diseases.2
