Diagnosis of NOSE BLEED

The physician will conduct a physical examination to detect the exact cause of nose bleed. He or she will look for the presence of a foreign object which might be stuck inside the nose. The physician will also take a detailed medical history. Sometimes the physician might ask for certain diagnostic tests to be performed, these tests include:²

Blood tests including complete blood count, to check for blood disorders
Nasal endoscopy, i.e., examining nose using a special instrument
Partial thromboplastin time, to check for bleeding disorders
CT scan of the nose
X-ray of the face and nose
