Management of gynecomastia is generally not required as it may regress on its own. Any underlying disorder needs to be treated.1

Diet Recommendations (Aahar)

  • Use of heavy but non slimy food is recommended
  • Amongst grains - old unpolished rice, barley, oats, are recommended
  • Amongst vegetables - carrots, radish, ginger, cucumber, brinjal are recommended
  • Grams like bengal gram, green gram, horse gram and red lentils are recommended
  • Spices like black pepper, cardamom, pepper are recommended
  • Citrus fruits like lemons, oranges etc are recommended
  • Warm water, honey and spiced buttermilk are recommended

Lifestyle changes (Vihar)

  • Follow a systematic daily way of life (Dincharya) that includes appropriate sleeping and waking patterns, good quality and time for sleep, sexual activities, and exercises
  • Avoid activities that lead to stress
  • Avoid performing excessive exercises
  • Avoid suppression of urges (vegavidharan)
  • Regular exercises and asana are recommended.
