BLEPHARITIS Meaning

Blepharitis is a condition where there is swelling in the outer part of the eyelids. Usually the part where the eyelashes are situated is the part that is affected. The condition is difficult to treat and can affect both the eyes but is not known to affect the vision.1

There is no analogous term for blepharitis in Ayurveda, but the clinical features can be correlated to a condition called as Krumigranthi. This is a subtype of the sandhigata roga and show symptoms closely related to blepharitis.2
