What is Eye discharge Ayurvedic treatment

EYE DISCHARGE Meaning

Eye discharge is a condition where there is a discharge of some secretion through the eye. These secretions could either be due to excessive tears, pus or plain mucus.1

As per Ayurveda, this condition can be co-related to Netrastarva. Ayurveda explains netrastrava as a condition where the vitiated doshas (vata, pitta or kapha) move into the netrasandhi (eye) through the tear ducts and create excess secretions to flow out without any pain. Based on the type of discharge they produce, these netrasravas are classified into puyastrava (pus discharge), kapha strava (mucus discharge), raktasrava blood discharge) and Pittastrava (pigmented secretions).2
