What is Photophobia Ayurvedic treatment

PHOTOPHOBIA Meaning

Photophobia is a combination of two words, photos meaning light and phobia meaning fear. Although the condition does not involve fear of light but it is more so a reduced sensitivity towards bright light. Photophobia is commonly seen as a symptom in many conditions of the eye, the optic nerve, neurological conditions and also some psychiatric conditions.1

As per Ayurveda, the symptom is referred to as Prakasha asahishnuta (prakash - light) and is commonly seen in the conditions called aardhavbhedaka (migraine).2
