Causes of DENTAL ABSCESS

In a periapical dental abscess, bacteria attack the innermost part of the tooth – the dental pulp which comprises of the blood vessels, nerves and the connective tissue. A dental cavity or chipped or cracked tooth causes bacteria to enter and spread all the way to the root. Bacterial invasion causes swelling and invasion at the tip of the root.³
