Most people experience tooth pain at least once in their lives. Tooth pain is often the result of an infection or dental cavities (tooth decay) caused due to poor dental hygiene. Sometimes pain that is felt in the tooth can also be due to pain in other parts of the body. This is called referred pain. For example, an earache may sometimes cause tooth pain.1

Tooth pain is one among several oral diseases described in Ayurveda. The concept of Ayurveda belief lies in three doshas (Vata. Piita, kapha).. According to Ayurveda, dental diseases are caused due to an imbalance of kapha dosha located in the oral cavity.2
