  • Eating a healthy balanced diet
  • Drinking plenty of water and clear fluids
  • Avoiding caffeine and alcohol
  • Avoiding fat rich foods rich in saturated and trans fats
  • Avoiding refined sugars and grains and eating whole grains instead
  • Taking adequate amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh fish, lean meat and nuts

Changes in lifestyle to prevent acne include –

  • Daily cleansing of the face and neck with gentle, pH balanced cleanser
  • Astringent and antibacterial cleansers to be preferred in oily skin
  • Using deep cleansing masks
  • Eating healthy and drinking lots of water
  • Using less chemical based make up
  • Reducing stress with exercise, yoga and meditation
