Diagnosis involves examining both the male and the female partner. Detailed history and physical examination is undertaken. Both may be tested for hormonal imbalances. Men may be checked for their sperm health and women may be advised an ultrasound test to check for abnormalities and diseases of the female reproductive organs.

Natural food recommendations are advised to improve fertility. Some of the dietary recommendations include –

  • Eating fruits and vegetables
  • Eating adequate dairy productions
  • Daily nuts and almond intake also improved fertility
  • Including fiber rich diet like whole grains and unrefined carbohydrates.
  • Inclusion of cold water fish in diet. These are important to supply omega 3 fatty acids in diet. These fatty acids aid in the production of hormones, reduce inflammation, and help regulate the menstrual cycle.

  • Having regular intercourse around the time of ovulation for the highest pregnancy rate is advised to achieve natural conception. Ovulation usually occurs at the middle of the cycle. A good partner relationship helps in conception.
  • Adequate sleep and reduction of anxiety helps in easing symptoms of infertility
  • Keeping up a moderate exercise routine and a healthy diet can improve the outlook of life
  • For men avoidance of tobacco and alcohol use is advised to combat and prevent infertility.
  • Men are advised to avoid extremes of temperature and also environmental and industrial toxins that may affect fertility. Medications may also cause infertility and they need to be evaluated.
  • In women quitting tobacco and alcohol use is needed to prevent infertility.
  • Women and men are advised to cut down on caffeine
  • Excessive weight gain is bad for infertile couples. This should be avoided.
