Your doctor may perform several tests to confirm your PCOS. Some of these include –

The goal of PCOS diet is to promote weight loss. Diets that are low in fat and carb-rich may increase insulin levels, so for women with PCOS, a low-carb diet is recommended. Rather than completely restricting carbohydrates, more complex carbohydrates and fibres should be included in the diet. Some diet tips include:

• Increase intake of whole-grain cereals, barley, brown rice, and beans.
• Avoid white bread, pasta and rice.
• Increase intake of fruits, vegetables, pulses and wholegrain foods.
